Kenya’s Gloria ‘Xtatic’ Mecheo is on another level right now, i always talk about how hard it is to break into the South African music market, but Xtatic makes it look easy with just her 3rd single out, first being “venom” then “the prep track”.

After reaching the finals in the Kenyan edition of Channel O’s Emcee Africa Competition in 2010, she went onto sign with Sony Music Entertainment Africa becoming the second female hard core rapper to make it big from East Africa, after Stella Mwangi aka STL, who is signed by EMI Norway. Xtatic also signed a full services management deal with ROCKSTAR4000, and worldwide Music Publishing deal with Rockstar Publishing.

5FM is South Africa’s most popular National radio station which falls under the National broadcaster SABC, and if you ask me, they are very choosey when it comes to what’s added into their playlist. Xtatic is the 3rd artist of this generation from the REST of AFRICA to be added to the 5FM playlist, only other artists to crack into the 5FM playlist are Nigeria’s D’Banj and ASA.

Xtatic has also joined Camp Mulla and Just-A-Band as some of the few Kenyan artists that have featured on MTV Iggy. She is currently in johannesburg S.A recording her debut full -length album, produced by The Fahrenheitz. One disappointment is that the track which made it to the playlist will not see the daylight for bootleggers like me but you can stream the teaser below.
